Shall Not Pass This Way Again

"I shall pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer it or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again." - Stephen Grellet

I keep reading and re-reading this quote. To process it, to comprehend it to a deeper level, to let it seep in so I am reminded to appreciate the moment and let kindness flow at any given moment of life. Perhaps a sticky note on the fridge will help.

Yes, life has its challenges and we all have and will face many. That much is surely guaranteed. But, it's good to remember that every moment is a precious sub-point in our lives. Have you read "Oh, the places you'll go" by Dr. Seuss? Although written for children, this book packs so much for all of us. Especially adults, as we forget our way and will need reminders frequently, if not daily. The "The Waiting Place", in this book, explains how everyone is just waiting. For the bus to come, the plane to go, the fish to bite, Friday to come, or for snow to snow. And this waiting is what hinders us. What produces a whole lot of days of "I don't know how it's already 8pm. I didn't get anything done!". So how about we become more intentional? More aware? More harmonious with ourselves? How about instead of planning for Friday and thinking we just need to get through today because it's hot, it's cold, it's raining, we just get up and do what needs to be done. We make our own done lists. We strive and realize that we shall pass through this but once.

Wishing you a lovely day.
