Once upon a time, there was a little bookstore in Aurora, Ontario, Canada called Bookworms & Co. After it closed, the owner, Loba, decided to move the whole endeavour to an online community for lovers of books. While this website is quite new, the bookstore hosted hundreds of events in just a few years, and worked with many authors, schools, universities, organizations and charities.
So now here we are. A new chapter (all pun intended). On this website, you'll find articles on books, art, philosophy and perhaps other tidbits of life as well.
If you'd like to connect on a deeper level, join discussions and perhaps even join our new online book club, then please check out Bookworms & Co.'s new patreon page here.
A bit about me: Hi, my name is Loba and I'm a lover of books, from fiction to non-fiction. My favourite genres to read seem to fall into many genres of fiction (mostly fantasy, cozy reads, mysteries, romance) to non-fiction (mainly self-growth and philosophy). Which granted, next to each don't seem to go hand in hand but perhaps after reading philosophy so much the cozy and fantasy books offer the grand escape I need. My favourite books of all time are Great Expectations, Pride and Prejudice, and Wild Reverence (I will make a longer list soon).
Professionally, I come from a marketing and event management background. I have extensive experience in marketing, publishing, sales and event management and have executed many projects from automotive tradeshows to IT conferences and exhibitions as well as book launches, small business marketing initiatives and more.
After working in the corporate world for many years, I opened an etsy shop and eventually gained the courage to open a brick and mortar indie bookstore called Bookworms & Co. (see the many photos of the cute bookstore that once was on Google). It was an absolute dream come true. I worked on hundreds of events onsite and offsite, I dealt with wonderful authors and customers on a daily basis, and had a lovely group of staff. All in all, the bookstore was a chapter that left incredible memories of a lifetime. Unfortunately, due to rising costs, I closed the bookstore in the summer of 2024, after being in operation for three years.
Since then, I have worked with various clients on many projects such as website design and management, social media management and business marketing and of course on Bookworms & Co.'s next endeavour which you see on this website and on my Patreon friends page here.
For now, I'll end this by thanking you for being here and if you know me from the bookstore then welcome back. So glad you're here!
Loba
PS. I still work with small businesses and authors with their marketing needs. Please use the contact form for all general inquiries or to discuss potential collaborations. I look forward to hearing from you.
